You scour the internet locating what seems to be the perfect job... which is awesome.
But, it's also created a problem.
You're painfully aware that you need to find work, but the idea of writing a custom resume for every position you apply to sounds painful, time consuming, and a waste of energy.
You know you should take one step back and slow down, create a custom resume and then apply, but in your haste you click the “apply now” button and cross your fingers.
You talk about this perfect position with your friends and family and you know this opportunity could change your life.
You start to imagine how the extra income will enable you to go on a vacation, get caught up on your bills, and have that sense of financial security again… if only this job comes through, life will be different.
So, you do what any job seeker would do. You sit by and wait for the call. Hoping, wishing and praying you will be selected for an interview.
Time passes and your phone doesn’t ring. So you continue to apply and apply and apply to any and all positions you find.
With every application comes the feeling of rejection, click by click you start to lose hope and confidence.
You've invested time, money, and energy into finding a job but to no avail, so you start the process all over again.
Finally, if you are lucky, you get a call. It’s a potential employer inviting you to an interview. You don’t remember applying to this company but, oh well, it’s an interview.
You’re so excited you go tell everyone you know that this is it - your chance.
After the interview, thinking it went well, you sit by anxiously waiting.
Surely they will call…
